Town of Duck Lake Celebrates Centennial with ACFC (January 31st 2012) - On Saturday, February 25, 2012, the Town of Duck Lake will celebrate the 100th year of its incorporation as a Town. L'Association Catholique Franco-Canadienne de la Saskatchewan, founded in Duck Lake in 1911, will share in the celebration. The ACFC is a provincial French organization which instituted and promotes the French language, education and religion throughout Saskatchewan. Celebration events include a Mass at the Blessed Sacrament Church, and refreshments, rib-eye steak dinner, entertainment and dance, with Donny Parenteau, at the Duck Lake Belle-a-drome. The evening will incude the unveiling of the ACFC jubilee theme song. Tickets for the event are $35.00 each and are available at the Town Office (English) 467-2277 and the Regional Interpretive Centre (French) 467-2057.
Citzen of the Year (January 9th 2012) - Edwin and Jocelyn Pelletier have been chosen as Duck Lake and District's citizen of the year.

Economic Development
The economic development committee consists of appointed members of the community, two appointed town council members, the mayor and the town/economic development secretary. The purpose of the committee is to promote community enhancement and development, both economically and residentially with local events, recreation and tourism as well as attracting residential, industrial and business development. Community enhancement is encouraged through property maintenance.. |
Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at the Town Office. In the past
two years the committee has had a website developed, organized a town wide garage sale, approved a "15 minutes of fame" film segment, printed a business directory, acquired a new town slogan and beautified the Town Square with a large flowerbed.
The committee welcomes suggestions and ideas towards the promotion, marketing and development of the community. anyone interested in sitting on this committee or attending a meeting may call Karen at 467-2277.
