Town of Duck Lake Celebrates Centennial with ACFC (January 31st 2012) - On Saturday, February 25, 2012, the Town of Duck Lake will celebrate the 100th year of its incorporation as a Town. L'Association Catholique Franco-Canadienne de la Saskatchewan, founded in Duck Lake in 1911, will share in the celebration. The ACFC is a provincial French organization which instituted and promotes the French language, education and religion throughout Saskatchewan. Celebration events include a Mass at the Blessed Sacrament Church, and refreshments, rib-eye steak dinner, entertainment and dance, with Donny Parenteau, at the Duck Lake Belle-a-drome. The evening will incude the unveiling of the ACFC jubilee theme song. Tickets for the event are $35.00 each and are available at the Town Office (English) 467-2277 and the Regional Interpretive Centre (French) 467-2057.

Citzen of the Year (January 9th 2012) - Edwin and Jocelyn Pelletier have been chosen as Duck Lake and District's citizen of the year.

Building Permits
Building permits are required for:
- New building construction
- Garages and carports
- Decks
- Mobile homes
- Renovation, alteration or addition ot an existing building
- Relocation of an existing building
- Basement development in a dwelling unit
- Change of use of a building (example: office to residence)
- Swimming pools & hot tubs
- Demolition of an existing building
- Temporary buildings
- Retaining walls

Building permits are not usually required for:
- Fences
- Driveways and parking lots
- Sidewalks
- Painting, decorating, laying carpet and general maintenance
- Replacement using the same materials and not affecting structural, electrical or mecanical systems (roofing, siding, windows)
- Accessorry buildings (garden and tool sheds) not greater thatn 10 m2 (107ft2) in area (limit of one per property)
- Swimming pools and hot tubs less than 600 mm (2 feet) in depth

Permits are available at the Town Office.
